You didn't make it clear about the script, and I'm concerned. Did the doctor write the script for you with full knowledge of your recent drinking and blackouts? Or is this a regular script for your wife? I don't know any physicians who will write a prescription for Ativan without first examining the patient in person.
This is no time to be messing with meds on your own.
