I've come up with a good idea. I'm going to write a list of questions that I have to read and answer out loud to myself anytime I feel tempted to drink.
E.g. "Do I want to set a bad example to my son?"
"Do I want to feel hungover with no energy tomorrow?"
"Do I want to do further damage to my liver"
"Do I want to 'check out' and not be there for my partner?"
"Do I want to feel down on myself tomorrow?"
Etc.....I feel hopeful this may be an effective measure. Part of my new planning skills!
