Don't worry about not responding or being upbeat. Please, please don't. Nobody expects anything of you, but I'm pretty sure they would want you to be honest, for your own sake.

I don't think the SSRI has had enough time to kick in yet. You probably had a couple of good days and thought/hoped you were out of the woods, but it's likely it will take 3 or 4 more weeks. That probably feels like an eternity, but it will pass. Just binge on movies and tele. Have you seen Sideways? One of my all time favourite movies. Really funny and very touching :-)
