Great post Venecia. My parents have some friends who still live in town, and they are in either poor health or their spouses have died, etc...I make an effort once or twice a summer to stop by unannounced and spend some time with them. I think they enjoy it, because I was friends with their own kids, and they don't get much company. I'm driving all the time anyway, so if I have a spare hour, and in the area, I'll swing in. Its my random act of kindness type of thing.
