You did an amazing thing! Congratulations! I went to the doctor about a week ago for a new patient exam and all, and I had intended to tell him the truth about how much I drink, which is a subject I have never broached with a doctor. I chickened out, though, and just focused on being depressed and my thyroid issues. He even asked at the end if there was anything else... I scrunched up my face and had a quick inner battle, and then just went with, "No, that's it."
You are brave, and helped yourself a lot by just being honest.
