I totally get the bbq invite - I have drinking neighbors that I didn't have to deal with this weekend. But, will have to in the near future. Play with the baby for a set time and leave sounds like a legit concrete plan to me. Loud music would wreck my nerves and definitely trigger me to drink to soothe them. Be careful, but it seems like you know what you are doing
