GetMeOut I'm sorry you went through that but you are not alone. I was in a similar situation and know how terrifying the DTs are.
It may seem crazy now but in a way you may be lucky to of had them. No way left for me to trick myself into thinking I'm not an alcoholic and gave me what I needed to fight the urges.
