Wow, it feels pretty crazy to be able to say that I have been sober for 10 months. Not long ago, that seemed like such an unrealistic expectation but here I am... 2 short months away from an entire year!! Incredible. It feels like "just yesterday" and "forever ago" both at the same time.
I can't begin to explain how much better I feel physically and mentally. I still have a lot of things to work on... there were many events over the course of my drunken stupor that I never gave "proper attention" to. One of the many downfalls to drinking is shutting yourself off to almost everything emotionally. While this may "sound like a good idea at the time", it is (in reality) absolutely terrible and, in the end, we are usually forced to deal with the things that we neglected... sometimes months or even years later.
