Newcomer to site and alcoholism/recovery
Hi everyone. I am the mother of an adult daughter who is an alcoholic. We admitted her to a residential treatment facility last Friday, so she is on day 5 of this process. I am still trying to let this all sink in. She was VERY secretive of her drinking so until recently we had no idea just how bad it was. She has high anxiety and is unable to cope with even the basic things in life.
She began drinking about 5 years ago. She is a binge drinker, drinking to black out.
Anyway, I am sure I will be busy reading and soaking in all the information/wisdom/experiences that I can and this forum, I am so glad I found it.
