Evening, gang!
Got off work at 4pm and took my wheels out for a spin around town. Picked up some firewood and then decided I could really use an empanada (essentially a small piece of pie-crust stuffed with spinach and cheese). I enjoyed it in the park and ran into an old friend and we chatted for a while, mostly about how we both feel that the new "Wendy's" in the town square is totally tacky and does not belong in a place like this. Then I grabbed a coffee at my absolute favorite cafe and people-watched for another half hour. Drove home, started a fire, and made dinner. Soon I'll watch a movie and I have plenty of seltzer and lime to get me through the night. Tonight's desert is cheesecake, which I will heavily garnish with fresh fruit from the market: pineapple, grapes, watermelon and bananas. It's grand to be sober!
