8 years today
While I don't count days, I do give a nod to the day I decided to change my life. There is a clear demarcation between "then" and "now".
and if I had it to do over, I would pick "now" again. Every. Single. Time.
Eight years means I don't clearly remember the feeling of being drunk or high, but I do definitely remember the struggle and the darkness. If you are currently in that struggle, never give up. The battle can be won and you can be free.
