it's been four days since
surgery so today i'm
cutting back on drugs
we'll see how it goes
and with any luck i'll be
off painkillers soon
i would like to switch
to aleve by monday and
toss the narcotics
what's different this
time is i don't like the fog
of medication
i used to like the
white tunnel of near death space
from the opioids
now i want to live
with awareness, clarity
and concentration
