How I perceive being trapped y dementia:
HEAR my SPEAK
It’s a frightening world.
No-one speaks my speak,
Yet speak I do; even scream.
What is it you hear-
Or indeed, don’t hear?
My future, it feels so bleak.
I’m a soul you know;
Tortured, You say,
Tortured, I say, or unheard?
For I do speak to you,
But you don’t speak my speak;
It doesn’t mean I have nothing to say.
So please listen to me
When I say my words,
The language may not be the same;
But I’m talking to you
In the way I know how;
Listen; HEAR what I say.
be grateful for every little things peeps x
that's great insight, my grandma went thru it when she was still with us, and I bet she felt exactly what you wrote early on when she was beginning to forget things, but really could still have a conversation, we just tried spending as much time with her as we could, right til the end
