Mill - I can find a lot about the causes of the redness & enlarged capillaries, but nothing (via a quick search) about the reversibility of these things. My best guess would be that both would subside (particularly the generalized redness) if you stop drinking and start taking care of yourself. I think you pretty much knew that already, though. Irreversible varices (dilated/distended veins) can occur, however, if you reach the point of liver cirrhosis. That particular condition can be life threatening & it's different from surface capillaries showing.
