Wow. Many hugs and well wishes to you and your family and friends. Sounds like an emotional overload. Make some time to so something nice for yourself when you can. Keep sharing. Pain shared is pain halved and we are here for you.
On an encouraging note, my ex's cousin delivered her babies at around 25 weeks. She had triplets on board, so they knew she was going to go early, but not that early. They were in NICU for several months and it was touch and go for awhile, but all three pulled through and are now hair-raisingly healthy 4 yo boys. One did suffer hearing loss from an infection, but he started in a special school at around a year old and learned sign language, which he taught to his brothers at home. Their first word was "No", in sign language. Mom and dad are playing catch up taking adult signing classes trying to keep up with the "secret language." They must be especially wary of prolonged silences, because "those boys are always up to something."
