Just a few thoughts. Your sponsor's beliefs are hers. She probably really believes that if you aren't in AA you are screwed. But her beliefs aren't necessarily reality.
Lots of people tried many things to stop drinking and found that AA was the only thing that worked for them. And if you think that a program saved your life you might be a bit enthusiastic about it. It's only natural.
AA wasn't my path to sobriety. But I have come to respect it. Just take a minute and read the stories of people on this site... Many are sober without AA and happy. I am both.
