I'm on 30mg citalopram (have been on 40 in the past) and I've found it really helps. I've been on various other meds over the years but found citalopram to be the best of a bad bunch lol. They all have side effects. Most of the nasty ones pass within the first week (I found days 4-6 the worst) but there are other longer term side effects, for some people it can affect sleep and sexual function, but you have to weigh up the pros and cons. For me the pros outweigh the cons. You just have to give it a go and see if it helps. Hope you feel better soon.
