Violet, early-on someone mentioned that when a craving hit, to take notice. Am I Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired? (HALT) If so, fix that first, it can lead to a drink. I found that to be true. I ate a lot, and I ate whatever I wanted - a bag of potato chips, chocolate ice cream, candy, cookies. I gave myself a huge break on food choices for about a month until my anxiety lessened. It helped.

Anxiety is heightened by withdrawal - even 12 hours of withdrawal - and it takes quite some time for the brain to re-wire, so you're going to have to bite the bullet just like we all did when we stopped. Your doctor can prescribe some help for that, it's common to be given something to get over the acute period. Well worth a visit to your doctor.
