Dee - I didn't mean to come across as defensive. Lately, I get the sense that I have painted myself into a corner in life. Addiction was clearly a central contributor to it, but I made a lot of other mistakes along the way.
It's funny because I read the list of signs for codependency a while ago and stopped about halfway down because I was checking all the boxes. Maybe I stopped because I was afraid of the answer?
By the way, if I had made it to San Francisco I was planning on heading straight to the hippie "Mecca" and sending a photo with a handwritten sign saying "For Dee" on the street corner. I'm sure you know the corner I am referring to. The next trip is going to have to be by plane though.
