Funny story
When she was 2 she would actively try to escape me. If you did not watch her every second she would take off as fast as her little legs would carry her. Her greatest jail break was making it two yards away before she was apprehended. I was painting trim on our house and she was helping but as usual her primary goal was escape. She wanted to go to the back of my house where there were woods. After chasing he down for the 10th time and getting no painting done frustration got the better of me. I told her that there were monsters in woods.
It worked like a charm. She stayed in the front of the house and I could make sure she was safe. One day about two weeks later. A very pissed off wife wanted to know if I had told my daughter that there were monsters in the woods.
