I can't begin to tell how many times I have heard variations of these excuses. My AH's favorite excuse for falling is that "his knee buckled". True, he has a bad knee, but if he was not drunk, he would be able to catch his balance (he never falls when he is sober). The latest was Easter when he tumbled down the back stairs from the deck and ended up halfway down with his feet stuck through the side railing and his head two steps down. I had to remove a vertical post to get him unstuck...
