It's not hard to live near alcohol in Australia - until recently I had two pubs in walking distance, two bottle shops, and a bowls club and a golf club.
One of the pubs closed down but you get the idea.
I never thought there's come a day when I didn't think about drinking, or miss it - I drank hard for 20 years - but I'm honestly free of all that now and happier for it.
It meant a lot of changes, but they were changes I was willing to make because I came to hate who I was a drinker. I wanted the old me.
I figured I could be who I wanted to be, or drink but not both.
You absolutely can do what I did. I'm noone special
