OT/Something good today

I went to my kindergartener's parent-teacher conference (alone, cause daddy is on Ativan and in bed being taken care of by his mommy). Don't worry, I don't ever badmouth my husband to my kids. That's something I'll never do.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. His teacher told me he is doing well academically, learning to recognize words on the page, simple math, etc. But above all, she complimented me on what a "sweet" boy he is, and how he is so friendly and kind and has a lot of friends. I told her how the other day, he was playing play-doh at the kitchen table and his baby brother woke up from a nap and came to sit down. The 6-year-old took half of his play-doh and gave it to his brother to play with him. He didn't see me watching, but I almost cried at how sweet it was.

Anyway, my point in all of this is that my children are so sweet and precious, and I will NOT fail them. Every minute, I'm looking more and more forward to having our own place. They inspire me to find my own happiness and be a good example. They are innocent and they need their mama to make good choices for them. It just made me more resolved and more confident in this moving-out decision : )
