When I do that the romanticism is stripped away and I'm left with the picture of me during my last excruciating hang-over. Or I'm left with my visit to a cardiologist terrified that I had done irreparable damage to my heart (I had not by the way, it was withdrawls/panic attacks I was suffering from).
Keep reaching out. Someone will be here all night ready & willing to talk you off the ledge in a moment's notice.

I was gonna basically say the same thing. Play the tape to the end and you'll see yourself miserable. Why go there when you know how it will end?
