I am confused by this so, lets go through this step by step.

I understand that you were sober, but relapsed.
I believe your Doctor told you you would have to go through detox again.
He prescribed you detox medicine but it is unavailable.
So he has advised to drink until it become available because you could have a fatal withdrawal.

I would get a second opinion.

I would take any notes the Doctor has given you regarding your visits to him and take them to your ER (Casualty Department), Emergency Treatment Centre.

I would tell them you wish to be admitted and to detox. They will have access to the medicine you need and have on-hand specialist emergency medical available should there be any complications.

I think rehab would be of some help after being discharged to avoid repeat occurrences.

When you become Sober, you need to actively make positive changes in your life. This involves changing a well establish routine completely, changing your diet, changing even the route home from work.

You need to redesign your working day and resting days to give yourself the best workable solution to prevent relapsing. This is what people refer to as a plan.

Without a plan, you are doing things that can cause a trigger to buying and drinking alcohol automatically and combined with the physical and mental addition, this is why we relapse.

I would check into ER first and while you have time on your hands work out a plan for your immediate future on what the best changes to make your life more enjoyable will be.

Good luck and keep posting and reading.
