Exclamation Life, ( and recovery) is fragile

I just returned from a church excursion where we took the church van. On the way, we witnessed a very, very bad accident. Actually we were first on the scene. Two of on board were nurses. One victim was thrown from his vehicle and we ended up doing CPR on this young man. He smelled of alcohol.
This is someones son, brother, possibly someone's father or husband.
If you are thinking of recovery, if you are thinking " one more drink" or one more pill, please think again. I never again want to have to experience what I have tonight. I don't know if he will make it. He had a pulse, but was not breathing on his own when the paramedics took over. All I could think was " that could have been me 6 years ago.
Treasure your life. Think about the consequences.
Miraculously, the 2 in the second vehicle were unhurt.
