Hi Blondie59,

I agree with Nonsensical that you will get a lot of support over in friends & family. I went through a lot with my family with my alcoholism. My parents did go to some Al Anon meetings. I think what helped them most is being referred to a very good counselor who they met with & I met with separately for support. I do know establishing boundaries was really important for my Mom so she could stay healthy. In active addiction I knew how to emotionally manipulate my parents, which I'm not proud of. But someone who is actively using will do whatever necessary to continue. I do know nothing will work until someone truly wants help. I wish the best to you and your son.
