Hi. Many people have a fear of the unknown and it involves sponsors also. I was told they are people who went through what we all go through but have the experience now having been there. Sponsorship has no long term contract and if it doesn't develop for either is easily dissolved. In 30+ years I am fortunate to have shared with 2 sponsors for many years each my "problems" and successes and spent many hours with each as friends. I will say some of the answers I got back I didn't like but were very accurate.
Remember sponsors are helped a lot by helping as the remember when factor and other things are drawn into the present moment. I was often helped when I called either one and spoke to their spouses, who were both in Al Anon. Years later I remember some of their phrases.
