My daughter had her jaw wired shut for two months, among other injuries. She was a passenger in a horrible wreck in Sept of '08, I think. I posted about it here. It was horribly traumatic for her. Because of her opiate addiction, she was in much worse pain than a 'normal' person, due to screaming opiate receptors. She almost went into shock. I had to request a psych consult for her pain treatment and he took over the pain management.
Since they've prescribed percocets, I'm assuming she does not have methadone available?
