My experience. I went to 10 meetings a week. Kept relapsing. Moved to a place with ZERO meetings, but really got working my steps, out of the step working guide. Spent time daily connecting to my HP. I've been clean and sober for 16 months.

Many of the meetings I attended got me more worked up, distracted me from my progress, gave me a lot of confusing and mixed messages on what the program was about etc. There was a LOT of drama in the rooms, the literature is refreshingly drama free! Returning to the literature and focusing on the steps has turned my life around.

Meetings vary tremendously in style, format and sticking to the program. I would never suggest people stop attending meetings. I share only my own experience.
