Try to hang on even one minute at a time. Little things helped in the beginning. I drank a lot of sweets and ate candy the first couple weeks, it replace the sugar in the booze that my body desired. Having thoughts of not drinking was soothing as long as I kept it up helped a lot. AA meetings with people contact was a tremendous help even hearing what I didn’t want to hear. I/we especially had to stay away from people, places and things that trigger us to drink. This I absorbed by going to a lot of meetings. Keep coming.
