I was on Antabuse. When things got too stressful I would just "not take it" so I could drink.
My AV is smarter then that. Its quite simple to just not take it. This is no medical advise but Campral works for me. It gets me over the 2-3 month hurdle of cravings. I dont even have any cravings. Unfortunately its not cheap, but I dont like putting a price tag on sobriety.
