Have you tried Aquaphor? I have really sensitive skin, moreso in the winter when it's dry. Anything with any perfume and a lot of plant based stuff really irritates it. I use Aquaphor, the advanced therapy ointment (diabetics and radiation patients use it). It is very moisturizing, soothing, and non irritating. I have no idea if it will help your son but it really helps my rashes.
