don't want to drink, but this is like my safety net in case I did do something stupid. Now it is totally up to me to keep doing the right thing.

the safety net of the breathalyzer would have stopped you from only one thing: driving your car after drinking.
nothing else.
wouldn't have stopped you from drinking and doing a million other things.
you did that.
and you'll just keep doing it
