Well, I'm not really a "newcomer", because I've been down this road before, but this looks as good of a place to being posting.
A little about me - I'm the quintessential "high-functioning alcoholic" - successful, employed, professional, healthy (for now), married, stable (to the casual observer, perhaps! ;-) ).
But am still miserable, because, (wait for it...)
Drinking alcohol makes me depressed.
I drink alcohol to deal with depression.
Drinking alcohol makes me depressed.
Etc.
Looking forward to meeting and exceeding my 1+ year of sobriety from a few years back. Enjoying my 40+ days currently.
