There are lots of signs along the road to drunken oblivion. One of the first ones we usually drive past is "it's not as fun as it used to be anymore." The Beast is strong and crafty, though, and most of us just drive on down the road. It's a sign of wisdom to be able to project yourself along the path and see how it's going to end (badly).
Now is the time to quit! There's never going to be a better time. There's always room for things to get better if we can make the change and stop drinking.
