Gratitude
I am so grateful for the people that showed my family and especially my brother, kindness while he was actively addicted. They were our angels.
Grateful for the people that are kind and compassionate to all addicts, today, too. I'm reminded of one in particular that bought a meal for a friend's addicted mother, and sat down and ate with her and talked to her. She was an addict and living mostly on the streets. Grateful that we got to hear that story, a few years later after she had passed away.
