i thought it was a good movie. i think when he decided to tell the truth...for the first time....he just decided to stop lying...and take responsibility, and deal with the consequences of his actions. it would have been so easy to run away, and blame that lady....i mean, she was dead and no one would ever know. i just think he was tired...just tired of lying...and being held a prisoner to all his lies...and addiction.
in the end...he said for the first time in his life he was "free."
