Thanks for your story..Was prescribed Valium to help me detox at home and they almost killed me when I combined them with Alcohol. Be careful. I to have GAD due to abuse as a child. I didn't realize how it affected my life till I stopped self medicating and was able to begin to come to grips. I had to check in to detox hospital to get off alcohol. Once detoxed only then am I seeing where the real issues are. Point being don't give up...Detox and get counseling help. 11 Months sober and loving life better than I can remember. Abused drugs and alcohol since I was 13 now 44.
