It's good you're taking a hard look at what drinking is doing to you. I once drank the way you do. Mainly on weekends - but then it carried over into the weekdays. Every time I drank there was no guarantee I wouldn't get drunk and do stupid/dangerous things. As you have wisely discovered, it doesn't really help us when we have challenges in life. We need a clear head to get through those times - but I chose to stay in a haze.
Your plan sounds good - and maybe you'll decide you don't need that stuff in your life at all. We are here to support you.
