I was never a fan of beer but I've drank alcohol free wine a couple of times since I quit (I'm in my 10th week of sobriety). Once was out at a fancy dinner with my girlfriend, and then last weekend when I had an uncharacterisically strong craving. I'm clearly in the minority here, but it worked for me. I can certainly understand the concerns others have, though.
