Wow. I just woke up after having another nightmare. I dream I have relapsed. Im drunk and hiding it from everyone at AA and my wife. I never hid drinking from anyone in my active alcoholism. Its weird. Its easy to forget this dream till tomorrow night. Thats why I havent talked to my sponsor about it yet. Yesterday I hardly thought about drinking at all. Yet this dream persists.

Guess what after 25 years of sobriety I STILL have those nightmares, LOL!
But for me those dreams make me realize how lucky I am to still be sober when I wake up. Still wake up seating, but you know they say dreams have their own meaning, and very seldom does it have anything to do with the content of the dream, rather the subconscious sorting things out in our real life.
As large a role as alcohol has played in our lives it is bound to continue surfacing in our dreams from time to time. It is a great feeling to wake up and know it is only a dream. Maybe these dreams are there just to remind us how far we have come.
