Everyone is different. No one really knows what's going to happen to a person physically if they pick up a drink. You might get a hangover, you might not. You might be depressed (or it could trigger depression), you might not. People on here are just sharing their experiences and the fact that they have tried it themselves with generally poor results, myself included.
