That's a great idea. I will do something similar. I got the idea at a Nar-Anon retreat I went to a few months ago. I'll write something down that I need to let go of and light it on fire (or throw it in the fireplace or firepit) and as it burns and goes up in smoke.....I let it go. It does work.
