When I started to realize my XABF was an alcoholic, when I started living in his world of addiction and realizing I was enabling him - I could not have "dealt" with it - it sunk me way too low, the lowest I have ever been, the loneliest I have ever felt in my entire life.
I am convinced I was and still am powerless.
Perhaps its different if it is a partner or a friend. If it is a family member, I guess one might be more committed in finding help for them or at least giving them the tools.
