When I quit I wouldn't see a Dr...I'd detoxed hundreds of times before with no apparent problems...
my last detox I ended up with several mini strokes. 6 years on...and I'll never be the same again.
I'm not saying this will happen to you, but it happened to me.
lots of people have no ill effects with cold turkey detox...other people die.
You've been drinking regularly and pretty heavily for a long long time.
Like I said, your call, but do be informed about what you're rolling the dice on.
