Coming off booze will not instantly make you a millionaire, but it will allow you to be utterly objective about things and take control of whatever situation you are currently in a lot better than if you are drinking. It makes things a lot more predictable.
I would treat sobriety as a weapon that is available to you for nothing, and will enhance whatever you have already.
