To me the problem really wasn't the things I was addicted to, survivorest -n the problem was me.
I had a pathological desire to escape reality and run away...cutting out some drugs and not others didn't really help that.
It was pretty futile anyway - whenever I got high, I wanted to get drunk as well, whenever I got drunk, I wanted to get high...
Total abstinence was the way forward for me.
