day 8 - making progress!

I'm on day 8, feeling ok but still a lot of anxiety. I just had a wonderful thought so I thought I'd share. I had an argument with the abusive ex, and I'm finally standing up for myself instead of taking his s***. Told him I don't deserve to be treated that way, I have a lot of resentment toward him, and things will never be healthy between us.

Well, I was really angry when I got off the phone, and my usual thought is "I'm gonna watch tv and drink until I don't care anymore". But instead, I thought "I should do something with all my anger. I'm going to go do all my ironing!" Sounds mundane, but it's weird for me to want to channel my anger into something productive.

Just thought I'd share.
