I do have some .5 mg xanax for anxiety I can resort to if it gets really bad. I never take it since I use .5 mg clonazepam instead.

Of course I will also call a doc but benzos are the front line of treatment for alcohol withdrawal.

I apologize for being so resistant to seeking medical care but,

1) Right now I'm doing pretty good

2) Seeking medical care for alcohol issues pretty much removes any chance of getting medical coverage in the future. I did a sleep study one time and told the sleep doc how much I drank which at the time was a 6 pack three nights a week. He put on my chart binge drinking and I was unable to get health insurance for myself when I started a business. I was forced to go back to work with a company that has a group plan so I could get insurance.

3) To do inpatient I would have to either lie to my employer or work with the HR dept so they couldn't fire me. Problem is I'm in a competitive work environment and I would essentially put my career on the rocks. I have a mortgage, bills, wife and two young boys. I could lose everything.
